Happy Holidays – welcome to the Holiday Home Linky Party!
My mantel is always changing and this Christmas it’s changed since last Christmas. Every year I try to clear my head of how it looked the year before and even though I use the same stuff year after year I try to find new ways to show it.
I wish I could go out and buy the latest and most modern decorations but I just can’t do that because for one, my kids are too attached to the memories we bring out of the boxes every year and two, it would be a terrible waste.
When you display your holiday decor think in stories. For example -
Embrace the true meaning of Christmas with a nativity/religious table.
Have some fun with a touch toyland table where kids are welcome to come play with anything there.
Create a memories table holding all of your photo frames just from the holidays. I put away all of our regular photos during Christmas time and only show photos taken during Christmas.
Re-look at your holiday decorations and reinvent them, re-purpose them, and even paint them. What was once considered beautiful in ornate gold may now look better in shabby barn red.
