The Fighter :: Rental Movie Review

Starring: Mark Wahlberg, Christian Bale and Amy Adams

A look at the early years of boxer “Irish” Micky Ward and his brother who helped train him before going pro in the mid 1980s.

I’ve been following “Marky-Mark” since the early 90′s when I had a poster of him in Calvin Klein’s on my bedroom wall and he still never disappoints.

There’s a side to us all that feels we’ve seen it all, with our dis-functional family and friends. However, this movie completely takes the cake. You see the mom “Alice” with her 2 sons and 9 daughters (from different fathers) and you can’t help but smile and shake your head.

But don’t be judgmental. It’s easy to get lost in the “I can’t believe it” Just enjoy the movie and then count your blessings that this is not your life. This is not a boxing movie it’s a glimpse into a certain small town American culture.

Amy Adams was perfect in this movie. A far reach from anything she’s done in the past. All the actors contributed greatly to the film.

My husband liked it. I liked it. Rent it.
