Day 26 : Eat something that’s alive with every meal

It’s simple for your kids to grab a bowl of cereal in the morning, peanut butter and jelly sandwich with crackers for lunch and mac-n-cheese for dinner. We’ve all had those busy days when you just have what’s there.


Pop a banana on the cereal, and/or 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries on the side (they’re like tiny popsicles) for lunch, put a couple baby carrots and celery sticks with the sandwich, and for dinner get your kids used to a small dinner salad with that meal. Make sure EVERY meal has something “alive” in it and as they get older build on the live part and lessen the processed portion. Make sure your kids know what you’re doing… ask them  “What’s alive on your plate?”
